ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (Feb. 25, 2016)-- The 18th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball squad snagged a share of its fourth consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division title on Thursday night, never trailing in an 85-77 win over host Lewis University inside Neil Carey Arena.

The Rangers (22-4, 15-3 GLVC) entered the night needing a win and some help to secure a share of a fourth-straight crown and got exactly that with the University of Southern Indiana overcoming a 15-point deficit to earn the 89-82 overtime win over Bellarmine University, as UW-Parkside and Bellarmine share the East Division crown.

UW-Parkside opened the second half on a 15-4 run, opening up a game-high 14-point advantage. The Rangers led by at least eight the rest of the way, securing the No. 3 seed for the GLVC Tournament.

The Rangers scored the opening eight points of the game and never trailed in the opening stanza, owning a 39-36 lead at the halftime intermission. The host Flyers (20-8, 12-6 GLVC) twice tied the score but each time the Rangers responded in the tightly played first 20 minutes.

Five Rangers finished in double figures with Alexander Brown pacing the squad with 19 points. Kendale McCullum added 15 points and eight assists while Andy Mazurczak tallied 14. Kyle Flanagan collected 13 points and nine boards while Jake Verhagen buried four treys and finished with 12 points.

Max Strus led the Flyers with 25 points and 10 boards while Mile Simelton and Delaney Blaylock added 23 and 13 points, respectively.

Parkside shot 50 percent (30-for-60) from the field while hitting 11 threes on the night and enjoyed a 22-2 edge in bench production.

The Rangers return to the floor next Friday in the GLVC Tournament Quarterfinals in Saint Charles, Missouri.
