(Dec. 5, 2015)-- Undaunted by an early deficit the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball squad rallied and eventually blew away the host Saint Joseph's College Pumas, claiming a 96-60 victory inside Scharf Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.

The Rangers (5-2, 1-1 GLVC) trailed by 10-points midway through the first half but buckled down defensively the rest of the way, outscoring the Pumas (2-6, 1-1 GLVC) 48-18 in the second half for the blowout win.

The visiting Rangers dug themselves into a 10-point deficit midway through the first half, trailing 29-19 with 9:18 left but pieced together a 19-2 scoring binge to turn the deficit into a seven-point advantage with 3:42 remaining. Three straight jumpers from
Goran Zagorac started the run while a
Jalen Currie dunk pulled the Rangers within one point.
Kendale McCullum gave the Green and White the lead with a three the old fashioned way. Parkside's lead swelled to as many as eight points before taking a 48-42 edge in the locker room at half, shooting a blazing 67.9 percent (19-for-28) from beyond the arc.

UW-Parkside owned at least a nine-point lead the entire second half, limiting the hosts to just 18 points over the final 20 minutes of play.

Andy Mazurczak led all scorers with 19 points while distributing five assists while
Jalen Currie added 15 points, six boards, and four helpers.
Goran Zagorac added 15 points while
Alexander Brown was the fourth Ranger in double figures, coming off the bench and adding 10 points.

Davone Daniels and Nick Jeffirs led SJC with 12 points while Nathan Tidwell added 11 and eight boards.

UW-Parkside shot an impressive 63 percent (34-for-54) for the game while owning a 46-26 edge in points in the paint and a 26-8 advantage in points off turnovers.

The Rangers return to the court on Dec. 15, heading to Fayette, Iowa to face Upper Iowa University in a non-conference tilt.
