Chavares Flanigan tipped the scales back in favor of the Rangers (7-2) the next possession with a three the old fashioned way. A
Jalen Currie three pushed the UW-Parkside lead to four with 2:38 left as the visitors enjoyed a 34-30 lead at the halftime intermission.
Â
Michigan Tech tied the game twice early in the second half before the Rangers scored nine straight to take a 46-37 lead with 14:08 left. Five different Rangers contributed to the run, getting a jumper from
Andy Mazurczak to spark the spurt followed by a layup from
Alexander Brown, a free throw from
Kendale McCullum, and a Flanigan layup.
Jake Verhagen capped off the scoring binge with a tip-in bucket to give the Rangers the nine-point buffer. Parkside's lead swelled to 12 points with 4:08 left but the Huskies wouldn't retire without a fight, closing within three with 20 seconds left.
Kyle Flanagan sunk a pair of free throws with McCullum added another as the Green and White held on for the win.
Â
Brown led the Rangers with 17 points, canning three treys and ending the day six-for-10 from the floor. Mazurczak tacked on 14 while Currie and McCullum had 10 apiece.
Goran Zagorac had six boards and two blocks while Flanagan added six rebounds.
Â
Tech's Kyle Monroe led all scorers with 22 points while Luke Heller and Bryan Heath added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
