SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Mar. 24, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside golf team kicked off the spring season in style on Sunday in Arizona, downing local rival Carthage College in a medal match play event at the McCormick Ranch. The Rangers finished the day with the victory, earning five wins against four losses and one tie.
Kyle Kolberg paced UW-Parkside, carding a round of 77 to down the Red Men's Pat Clavio.
Nick Corban shot a 78 to down Josh Kopka while
Jake Knuese tallied a round of 79 to earn the victory over Matt Gates.
Jake Wisniewski and
Zach Haman both earned match wins while
Brian Krupo tied Carthage's Brad Hyland.
The Rangers return to the links on Mar. 31 for day one of the Spring Invitational at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind.
