SOMERS, Wis. (Sept. 28, 2012)-- Stephanie Barsuli found the back of the net with 56 seconds remaining in overtime, lifting the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team to the 2-1 victory over Bellarmine University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Wood Road Field.

The victory extends the Rangers' (5-3-1, 4-3 GLVC) home unbeaten streak to 23 games (19-0-4), a streak dating back to the 2010 season opener.

Barsuli's game-winner came in the 100th minute with just 56 ticks remaining in the first overtime session as she blasting the ball into the net off an assist from Ashley Meyer.

The back-and-forth affair was scoreless at the half with the visiting Knights (6-2, 4-2 GLVC) maintaining a slim 4-3 edge in shots while each team mustering just one shot on frame.

UW-Parkside struck first in the second half with Megan Owens scoring in the 64th minute after breaking away from the defense off a perfectly timed pass from Madison Pickett. The Rangers held the lead until the 80th minute when a McKenzie Combs front-flip throw-in found Emily Hollander for the equalizer. Neither team was able to score the final 10 minutes of regulation, forcing the 10-minute sudden golden goal frame.

UW-Parkside ended the contest with a 10-6 edge in shots, including all three taken in overtime.

Michelle Girard picked up the victory in goal for UWP, making two saves while Amy Kunowski was saddled with the loss, logging three saves and yielding a pair of scores.

The Rangers close out their homestand on Sunday at 2 p.m. against McKendree University.
