KANSASVILLE, Wis. (Oct. 1, 2012)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's golf squad returned to the links on Sunday and Monday, placing fourth at the 24-team Regional Invitational at Brighton Dale Golf Course.

The Rangers opened the invite on Sunday, carting a team score of 292 on the Blue Course before closing out the event on Monday with a 301 on the White Course. UW-Parkside's two-day tally of 593 was good for fourth place among the 24-team field, three strokes short of runner-up Tiffin University as the Dragons tallied a two-day tally of 590 (307-283). Wayne State University secured top honors, toting a team score of 576 (287-289) while Grand Valley State University was third (592, 290-302).

"The White Course was playing about 1 to 2 shots harder for most players in the field, so it was important that we got off to a good start when we played the Blue Course on Sunday.  We were able to maintain our position for the most part with a score of 301 today. I feel that we are capable of playing much better, but that remains to be seen. In the meantime I'm certainly pleased with where we are at," said head coach Mark Olsen.

Brian Krupo and Jake Wisniewski both tied for 11th, shooting a 147. Krupo opened with a 70 on Sunday before closing the invite with a 77 while Wisniewski shot a 72 on Sunday and a 75 on Monday. Keith Buntrock (76-74) and Nick Corban (75-75) both shot a 150 while Kyle Kolberg shot a 156 (75-81).

"Every member of our team contributed in at least one round.  In these big events as little as one shot one way or another makes a big difference and we battle for each and every one of them."

Wayne State's Rob Favoro secure top individual honors with a 142, edging Tiffin's Luke Schlicher in a play-off.

The Rangers return to action on Sunday for day one of the Maryville Invitational at Aberdeen Golf Course in Eureka, Mo.
