Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Parkside Ends Non-Conference Play with 1-0 Loss to Thomas More

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — In its first ever meeting against Thomas More all-time, the Parkside men's soccer team fell to the Saints 1-0 on Sunday. The Rangers generated eight of their 11 shots in the second half and forced all four Saints saves after halftime, but could not break through.

Parkside went into halftime tied 0-0 despite the Saints holding a 6-3 shot advantage and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Mateusz Pass made the half's lone recorded save on Anwar Benkandil's shot on in the 12th minute, and Parkside got through a three and a half stretch with three Saints corners and two shots without conceding a goal.

In the second, The Rangers put four of their eight shots on frame and earned two corners, with Joey Jones saving shots from Keven Sosa, Aiden Nagi, Lucas Ahonen, and Hudson Scheiber. The Saints also recorded eight shots and scored the match's only goal in the 68th minute, when a scramble just outside of the six turned into a Hugo Rosa Pacheco shot that was turned aside by Pass, leading to the rebound finding the boot of Cooper Walters, who tucked his shot into the low left corner of the net to make it 1-0. The goal would prove to be the game-winner.

Pass played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves, including two in the second half. Stefan Zekanovic led Parkside with two shots.

Parkside concludes non-conference play with a 2-2-0 ledger. With the victory, the Saints improve to 2-2-0 overall.

Up next, the Rangers will take 11 days off before heading south to Arlington Heights, Illinois, to face Roosevelt for their first GLIAC match of 2026 on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
