LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Parkside softball and GLIAC history was made on Thursday when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. revealed the nine recipients of the 2026 NCAA Division II Rawlings Gold Glove Award presented by the NFCA, with Parkside senior
Mia Johnson becoming the first Ranger and player from the GLIAC to earn the award.
Nine different programs were represented this year, highlighted by unanimous first-team NFCA All-America third baseman
Mia Johnson. The senior from South Milwaukee, Wis. was nearly flawless at the hot corner, posting a .982 fielding percentage with just three errors in 169 chances. It marked the first Gold Glove recognition for Parkside and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the NFCA's NCAA Division II All-America Committee, following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position. The group utilized fielding statistics and school-submitted video to closely examine finalists and select the winners at every defensive position. Any student-athlete that competed in the current championship year and was nominated by their head coach who is a member in good standing with the NFCA was eligible for consideration for this prestigious accolade.
The award is the latest in a long list of awards for one of the most accomplished student-athletes at Parkside. Johnson has garnered many awards this postseason, including All-American, All-Region and All-GLIAC honors.
