LOUISVILLE — Mia Johnson added another major postseason honor to her historic 2026 campaign on Friday, earning First Team All-Region recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
It marks the second consecutive season that Johnson has been named First Team All-Region after producing one of the most dominant offensive seasons in Parkside softball history.
Johnson, who previously earned First Team All-GLIAC honors, started all 54 games at third base for the Rangers and hit .464 with 71 hits in 153 at-bats. She totaled 20 doubles, three triples, 18 home runs, 44 RBI and 59 runs scored while posting a .987
slugging percentage and a .610 on-base percentage.
The junior also drew 56 walks, was hit by three pitches and struck out just 22 times all season while finishing a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts.
Johnson led Parkside in batting average, hits, runs, doubles, triples, home runs, RBI, total bases, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and walks. She also paced the GLIAC in batting average, doubles, home runs, on-base percentage, runs scored, slugging percentage, total bases and walks.
On the national stage, Johnson ranked among the top offensive players in NCAA Division II throughout the season. She also finished third in the GLIAC in hits and ranked 51st nationally with 71 base knocks.
Johnson continued to climb the Parkside record books during the season, becoming the program's all-time doubles leader on May 2 against Roosevelt University. Her 58th career double broke a program record that had stood for nearly 30 years.
One of the signature performances of her season came on April 22 against Lewis University when she hit three home runs in game one of a doubleheader, marking the second three-home run game of her career.
Johnson was also named to the NFCA Division II National Player of the Year Watchlist during the season, becoming one of just 118 players nationwide to earn the recognition.
Defensively, Johnson remained one of the Rangers' top performers at third base. She recorded 72 putouts and 94 assists with only three errors for a .982 fielding percentage while helping turn five double plays. Her 94 assists ranked fifth in the GLIAC.
