Cratch, Martin Post Top-10 DII Times, Lead Parkside at Bryan Clay Invitational

Azusa, Cali -- The Parkside Rangers track and field turned in a record-setting day at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, highlighted by a pair of historic performances in the men's 800 meters.

In the open section, Cayton Cratch broke the school record with a winning time of 1:48.74, a mark that ranks ninth in NCAA Division II this season. Later in the evening, Doug Martin surpassed that mark in the invitational section, running 1:48.63 to reset the school record and move to eighth nationally.

Also in the 800 meters, Amadeo Cortes Leclou posted a time of 1:54.66.

On the women's side in the 5000 meters, Abbi Steiner recorded a time of 17:01.30.

In the sprints, Ian Liburd led the men's 100-meter prelims with a time of 10.65, followed by Jaylan Nelson (10.96) and Jadon Rose (11.23). On the women's side, Mayda Conrad clocked 12.71 in the 100 meters.

In the field events, Nailah Taylor cleared 1.64m to finish 10th in the high jump, while Ariel Molina placed 13th in the men's high jump (1.83m). In the horizontal jumps, Máté Pesti recorded a mark of 13.05m in the triple jump, and Essence Burrows posted 11.56m in the women's triple jump.

Parkside will continue competition through the weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
