Liburd Breaks 200m School Record As Rangers Compete at UW-Oshkosh Invite

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Parkside Rangers men's track and field turned in a strong weekend at the UW-Oshkosh Invite and Multi, highlighted by event victories, depth across sprint and distance events, and a dominant showing in the hurdles.

On the track, Ian Liburd led the sprint group with a runner-up finish in the 100 meters (10.57) and a third-place finish in the 200 meters in a school record setting time of (21.11). Mike Milfred placed third in the 100 meters (10.94), while Jaylan Nelson finished fourth (10.97).

In the 400 meters, Doug Martin recorded a second-place finish (49.46), followed by Amadeo Cortes in fifth (50.22).

The distance group delivered standout performances, led by Connor Sheahan, who captured the 5000-meter title in 15:09.48. Beckett Pawlak followed with a runner-up finish (15:16.35), while Jack Hamilton placed fifth (16:14.74).

In the 1500 meters, Robin Bertsch placed second (4:02.51) and Cayton Cratch finished third (4:02.76), with Corey Goff adding a fifth-place effort (4:12.80).

Michael Hendrix continued his outstanding season in the 400-meter hurdles, winning the event in 52.69, while Carter Peet (2nd, 55.17) and Thomas Stiltner (3rd, 55.47) completed a 1-2-3 sweep for the Rangers. In the 110-meter hurdles, Mate Pesti placed second (15.05) after running 14.79 in prelims.

The Rangers also picked up a relay victory, as the 4x100-meter team of Mikhail Bolden, Ethan Cowart, Hendrix, and Liburd captured first place in 41.14.

In the field events, Cooper Vail led the throws group with a seventh-place finish in the discus (41.70m), while Kaelan McDonough placed seventh in the hammer throw (45.99m) and sixth in the javelin (41.58m).

The Rangers also saw strong performances in the multi events, with Carson Hull placing third in the decathlon (6,077 points) and Nicholas Katsma finishing fifth (5,833 points).

Parkside will return to action April 16–18, with part of the squad traveling to the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, while the rest of the team competes at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse.
