Late Heroics Secure Sweep For Rangers Over Lincoln

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Parkside Rangers earned their first series sweep of the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Lincoln University of Missouri 15-3 in game three of the series before scoring nine runs over the final two innings of game four to secure a 13-8 win and the sweep.

GAME THREE
Parkside used a strong offensive performance and an early surge to defeat Lincoln (Mo.), 15-3, in game three of the series on Saturday afternoon at Vivion Field.

Parkside opened the scoring in the first inning when Dylan Sayles connected on a solo home run to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. The offense quickly added to the advantage in the second, taking advantage of timely hitting and Lincoln miscues to score four runs. Carter Storti drove in a run with a double, Nolan Maciejewski followed with an RBI single, and Sayles added a sacrifice fly as Parkside built a 5-0 cushion.

The Rangers continued to add on in the third inning. Joe Mrowiec delivered an RBI double, Maciejewski brought home another run with a single, and Benjamin Loyd later added an RBI knock to stretch the lead to 8-0. Lincoln got one run back in the bottom of the inning, but Mrowiec answered in the fourth with a solo home run to push the lead to 9-1.

Parkside broke the game open in the fifth inning. Loyd highlighted the frame with a three-run home run to right center, and Storti later drew a bases-loaded walk to cap a four-run inning that extended the Rangers' lead to 13-1. The Rangers added two more runs in the sixth when Ty Kirchberg hit a two-run homer to center field, giving Parkside a 15-1 advantage.

Lincoln scored twice in the sixth inning, but the Rangers' early offensive output proved more than enough to secure the 15-3 victory in seven innings.

Nathan Ciemny earned the win on the mound, throwing 5.0 innings and allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five. Ryan Schissler worked the sixth inning, and Braden Sayles closed the game with a scoreless seventh that included two strikeouts.

Parkside finished with 15 runs on 15 hits, including four home runs and seven extra-base hits. Mrowiec led the way with three hits, including a home run and double, while driving in two and scoring three times. Loyd added a home run and four RBI, Sayles collected two hits including his first-inning homer, and Maciejewski also recorded two hits and two RBI as the Rangers received contributions throughout the lineup.

GAME FOUR
After falling behind early, Parkside chipped away throughout the middle innings before erupting for nine runs over the final two frames to secure the sweep. Lincoln struck first with a two-run home run in the opening inning and later used a five-run fifth to build an 8-3 advantage.

The Rangers began their climb back in the sixth inning when Mrowiec delivered a sacrifice fly to cut into the deficit, making it 8-4. Parkside then held Lincoln scoreless over the final three innings, setting the stage for the decisive offensive surge.

In the eighth, Mrowiec ignited the rally with a two-run home run to right field, scoring Jack Wicker and pulling the Rangers within two. Later in the inning, John St. Clair drove in a run with a double and Maciejewski followed with an RBI single to tie the game at 8-8.

Parkside completed the comeback in the ninth with a five-run outburst. Hayden Dieschbourg opened the scoring with an RBI single, Nathan Hanel added another run with a base hit up the middle, and St. Clair delivered again with an RBI double down the left-field line. Maciejewski capped the rally with a two-run double to right center, giving the Rangers a 13-8 lead.

The Parkside bullpen combined to shut the door from there. Peter Mulhern earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning, and Leo Berger closed the game with a shutout ninth to secure the sweep.

Offensively, the Rangers pounded out 17 hits and showed balance throughout the lineup. Maciejewski led the way with three hits and four RBI, while Mrowiec finished with three hits, including the pivotal eighth-inning home run, and drove in three runs. Loyd also recorded three hits and scored twice, St. Clair collected two doubles and two RBI, and Dieschbourg added two hits and an RBI as Parkside continued to generate traffic on the bases all afternoon.
