ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Parkside Rangers women's track and field team closed out competition at the GVSU Big Meet on Saturday with several top-30 finishes, highlighted by a school record and another NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
Dani Riemer delivered one of the top performances of the day in the 60-meter hurdles, placing eighth in 9.14 while setting a new Parkside school record. Teammate
Miranda Winkler also finished inside the top 30, taking 11th in 9.23.
In the horizontal jumps,
Rachel Blaskowski won the long jump with a mark of 5.83 meters (19' 1.5"), hitting the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard. Riemer added a ninth-place finish (5.10m), while
Jazai Lopez (23rd, 4.79m),
Analisia Melendez (24th, 4.78m), and
Avah Banks (26th, 4.74m) also placed within the top 30.
The triple jump saw a strong group showing led by Winkler in fourth (10.81m). Riemer placed eighth (10.44m), followed by Melendez (10th, 10.07m), Banks (11th, 9.96m), and Lopez (13th, 9.92m).
In the high jump,
Nailah Taylor cleared 1.58 meters to finish third overall, while
Delaney McMahon placed 23rd (1.43m).
Kalista Butkiewicz added a sixth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.37
meters.
On the track,
Anna Snorek recorded a 10th-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 25.43.
Josie Kooima led Parkside in the 800 meters, finishing 30th in 2:25.64.
Relay competition was highlighted by the Rangers' "A" 4x400 relay team of
Jasmine Sieben,
Anna Snorek,
Lainey Fredrick, and
Nailah Taylor, which placed eighth in 4:01.59. The "B" relay of
Jacy Boberg,
Miranda Winkler,
Chloe Miller, and
Madison Perez finished 13th (4:18.42).
In the distance medley relay, the quartet of Kooima, Snorek, Sieben, and Perez placed 19th (12:22.35), while
Audrey Amaya, Fredrick,
Kylie Kwiatkowski, and
Addison Lacy finished 23rd (12:54.38).
The throws group also recorded multiple top-30 efforts.
Brooke Mader led the way in the weight throw with an 11th-place mark of 15.23 meters, followed by
Hannah Vlies in 14th (14.82m) and
Shelby Hanshaw in 27th (12.97m). In the shot put, Vlies placed 15th (11.39m), Hanshaw finished 23rd (10.38m), and
Destiny Duesterbeck took 30th (9.76m).
Parkside will return to action next Saturday at the Lake Michigan Open.
