Ranger Men Win Lake Michigan Open

Kenosha, Wis. - The Parkside men's track and field team turned in a complete performance Saturday at the Lake Michigan Open, posting numerous top-10 finishes across the meet and highlighting depth on both the track and in the field. The Rangers put together a full team performance on Saturday, taking home the team title

Michael Hendrix delivered a historic performance, winning the 55-meter hurdles in a school-record time of 7.60 to break his own mark. Hendrix also captured the 200 meters with a time of 22.63. Zander Dezarn added a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 23.28. In the 55 meters, the Rangers swept the top three spots as Ian Liburd won the event in 6.41, followed by Lincoln Myer (2nd, 6.53) and Jalon Rose (3rd, 6.53). Ramere Jackson (6th, 6.68), Ethan Cowart (7th, 6.69), and Mike Milfred (8th, 6.70) all added top-eight finishes.

Parkside continued its success in the 400 meters with Dalton Metzdorf placing third (54.18), Braydon Dowler fourth (54.57), Aubrey Powers fifth (54.58), and Levi Krautkramer sixth (54.89). In the 800 meters, Cayton Cratch won the event with a time of 1:55.97, while Jacob Jones finished fifth (2:01.30), Robin Bertsch ninth (2:02.68), and Carter Peet tenth (2:02.97).

The distance group placed multiple athletes inside the top 10 of the 3000 meters, led by Beckett Pawlak in fifth (9:05.61), Connor Sheahan sixth (9:05.74), and Jack Hamilton seventh (9:06.45).

In the field events, Simon Dominic won the high jump with a clearance of 2.12 meters, an NCAA provisional qualifying mark that currently ranks ninth in Division II. Ariel Molina added a second-place finish at 2.00 meters, while Carson Hull finished seventh. EJ Johnson claimed first in the long jump with a mark of 6.60 meters, and Lincoln Myer followed closely in fourth at 6.52 meters. Mate Pesti placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 13.46 meters.

The Rangers earned additional top-10 finishes in the throws, as Kaelan McDonough placed third in the weight throw (13.43m), Chris Carlson finished fifth (13.24m), and Cooper Vail took sixth (13.19m).

Parkside also posted a strong showing in the 4x400 relay, with the "A" squad finishing second in 3:33.09 to cap off a productive day at the Lake Michigan Open.
