Dominic Hits Provo, Rangers Compete At Whitewater

KENOSHA, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin–Parkside men's track and field team turned in a strong performance Saturday at the Karl Schlender Invitational, highlighted by multiple event victories and top-ten finishes across the track and field events.

Parkside opened the meet with a strong showing in the sprints, led by Ian Liburd, who finished third in the 60 meters with a time of 6.93 after running 6.92 in the preliminaries. Mikhail Bolden added a seventh-place finish in the finals at 7.07. In the 200 meters, Ramere Jackson paced the Rangers with a fourth-place finish in 23.18, while Bolden (6th, 23.31), Jalon Rose (7th, 23.36), Ethan Cowart (8th, 23.46), and Jadon Rose (10th, 23.71) each recorded top-ten performances.

In the 400 meters, Carter Peet led Parkside with a seventh-place finish after clocking 51.60. Carson Hull followed closely in eighth with a time of 52.55  

The Rangers were dominant in the distance events, highlighted by Doug Martin's victory in the mile. Martin crossed the line first in 4:14.88, while Amadeo Cortes Leclou finished fifth at 4:21.76. Beckett Pawlak placed seventh (4:24.18) and Cayton Cratch earned an eighth-place finish with a time of 4:28.25.

Parkside swept the top two spots in the 60 hurdles, as Michael Hendrix claimed first place with a winning time of 8.24. Máté Pesti followed closely in second, crossing the line in 8.31.

The Rangers also captured a relay victory in the 4x400, as the quartet of Hendrix, Liburd, Pesti, and Martin won the event with a time of 3:24.98.

In the field events, Simon Dominic delivered a standout performance in the high jump, winning the event after clearing 2.05 meters (6' 8.75"). The mark also hit NCAA Division II Provisional Qualifying standards.  Ariel Molina added a third-place finish with a mark of 1.90 meters (6' 2.75"). In the long jump, Carson Hull placed fourth with a leap of 6.55 meters (21' 6"), while Molina finished sixth and Aaron Mueller placed ninth.

The Rangers will continue their indoor season next Saturday with their first home meet of the season, the Lake Michigan Open. It will also be alumni day for the Rangers. Links to coverage can be found at ParksideRangers.com.
