KENOSHA, WIS. -The undefeated Parkside Rangers volleyball team is set for its second weekend of GLIAC play, hitting the road to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Rangers will open the trip on Friday against Northern Michigan before taking on Michigan Tech on Saturday, as they look to keep their perfect record intact and continue their historic start to the season.

Parkside has quickly established itself as one of the top programs in the country, standing as one of only 13 undefeated teams in NCAA Division II. The Rangers currently lead the GLIAC in several key statistical categories, including aces per set (2.14), assists per set (13.03), total kills (477), and total blocks (78.5). Individually,
Lucy Russ ranks 17th nationally in assists per set (10.54), while
Natalie Harris sits 14th nationally in digs per set (5.46) and leads the GLIAC with 191 total digs. Offensively,
Ava Irvin has powered the attack, leading the conference in total kills with 133 and earning All-GLIAC honors this past week, while teammate
Sam Fisch ranks third in the GLIAC with 120 kills. Altogether, these performances have propelled the Rangers to the best start in program history.
Scouting Northern Michigan University:
Northern Michigan has faced challenges early in the 2025 season, entering the weekend with a 1–9 overall record and an 0–2 mark in GLIAC play during a nine-match losing streak. McKenzie Gruner has been a bright spot, leading the team with 83 kills while ranking 10th in the GLIAC with a .284 hitting percentage. On the defensive side, Lauren Cardwell has stepped up as a leader with 100 digs. Historically, Parkside holds a 6–13 record all-time versus Northern Michigan. In their most recent meeting, NMU defeated Parkside in four sets.
Scouting Michigan Tech:Â
Michigan Tech enters the weekend with a 3–6 overall record and an 0–2 mark in GLIAC play. Key contributors include Jacqueline Yancy, who leads the team with 93 kills and ranks 5th in the GLIAC with 3.44 kills per set, and Julia Fledderjohn, who has recorded 121 digs (3.90 per set), ranking 7th in the conference. Tricia Kennedy has also made an impact with 28 total blocks on the season. Historically, Michigan Tech leads the all-time series against Parkside 10–6. In their most recent matchup on November 1, 2024, Michigan Tech defeated Parkside 3–0 (27–25, 25–13, 25–22) in Houghton, Michigan.
