Parkside Volleyball Kicks Off GLIAC Play Against Roosevelt and Purdue Northwest

KENOSHA, WIS.- After an undefeated non-conference run, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers will open their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schedule this weekend at De Simone Arena. The Rangers are set to host Roosevelt University on Thursday night and face Purdue Northwest on Saturday.

Parkside vs. Purdue Northwest | 3:00 p.m. CT 

Parkside enters GLIAC play with a perfect 7-0 record after a dominant non-conference stretch. Several players have already earned conference recognition for their standout performances. Outside hitter Ava Irvin was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week after recording 67 kills, while libero Natalie Harris has been honored as the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, leading the conference in both total digs and digs per set. Setter Lucy Russ rounded out the trio by earning Setter of the Week after averaging 10 assists per set to fuel Parkside's balanced attack. Together, their efforts have propelled the Rangers to their best start since joining the NCAA in 1992.
 
Scouting Roosevelt:
Roosevelt University enters GLIAC play looking to build momentum after a challenging non-conference stretch that has them at 1-7 overall. The Lakers were selected 11th in the GLIAC Preseason Poll, but sophomore outside hitter #9 Alessia Isgrò has already made her mark, earning Hampton Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team honors and totaling 53 kills, 42 digs, and 2 blocks to lead the way. Parkside holds a 2-0 all-time record against Roosevelt, sweeping both matchups.

Scouting Purdue Northwest:
Purdue Northwest heads into GLIAC play with a 3-3 overall record after navigating a balanced non-conference schedule. The Pride were picked to finish 8th in the GLIAC Preseason Poll. Junior outside hitter Anika Huelskamp leads the team with 64 kills on the season, along with 52 digs and 8 blocks, while senior setter Marina Gronkiewicz has contributed 180 assists, 19 kills, 18 service aces, and 51 digs. Parkside holds a commanding 15-1 all-time record against the Pride, including a 3-0 victory in their most recent matchup.
