KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside women's soccer team kicks off GLIAC play with a home doubleheader at Wood Road Soccer Field, hosting Michigan Tech on Friday, Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. and Northern Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. The Rangers (0-3-1) were picked eighth in the GLIAC preseason coaches' poll and begin league action against a Michigan Tech side tied for sixth and a Northern Michigan program tabbed fourth.
Parkside closes non-conference play after a 0-2-0 week on the Minnesota road trip, falling at St. Cloud State (5-0) and at Concordia–St. Paul (4-0). Through four matches, Carley Nolte leads the Rangers with two goals, while Grace Breuchel has one; Emily Mikkelson and Emily Giese have supplied assists. In goal, the Rangers have combined for 21 saves.

SCOUTING MICHIGAN TECH:
Michigan Tech (0-4-0) enters league play after a challenging non-conference slate that included 1-0 setbacks to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State, followed by a 4-1 loss to Cedarville and a 2-0 defeat to Northwood. The Huskies' lone tally came from Peyton Wetzel, with Braydin Noble recording the assist. Goalkeeper Bri Barrows has faced volume early, stopping 31 shots (.795) across four starts. MTU's ledger shows 27 shots (14 on target) against 64 allowed through four contests. Key returners include Barrows in net along with Brooke Green, Reilly Lovercheck and Ryley Winrich, part of an 18-player returning core. Michigan Tech brings back 2024 All-GLIAC Honorable Mention midfielder/defender Olivia Gette, who has started all four matches this fall.
Parkside trails the all-time series 6-8-0 but carries a two-match win streak over the Huskies, including a 1–0 win in the most recent meeting on Nov. 3, 2024. The Rangers are 3-3 at home.
SCOUTING NORTHERN MICHIGAN:
Northern Michigan (0-1-3) opened with a 1-1 draw vs St. Cloud State and a 0–0 draw vs Minnesota Duluth before a 1-0 loss to Northwood and a 0-0 tie with Cedarville. Isabella Lorens owns the Wildcats' goal; Madison Bilbia leads NMU with 12 shots, and veteran keeper Jillian Thompson has been outstanding (0.50 GAA, .889 save percentage, two shutouts) through four starts. Headlining the returning award winners is senior defender Hannah Kastamo, the 2024 GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team selection, who is back to anchor NMU's back line in 2025. NMU also featured multiple 2024 first-teamers last season, including Brooke Pietila, Justina L'Esperance and Maria Storm.
The Rangers trail the Wildcats 5-8-3 all-time. NMU has taken the last three meetings, including a 5-0 result in Marquette on Nov. 1, 2024. Parkside is 3-2-2 at home versus NMU.
