Preview: Rangers to Hit the Road for GLIAC Play

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside softball team is set for more conference action, this time on the road. The Rangers will travel this weekend to Michigan to take on Davenport and Ferris State. They will open the weekend on Saturday at Davenport. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST. The Rangers will then travel over to Ferris State on Sunday with first pitch of the doubleheader slated for 1 p.m. EST. Coverage for both games can be found at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
 
The Rangers
Parkside is coming off a six-game week last week. The Rangers would go 2-4 over the week, securing wins over Wayne State and Roosevelt. Mia Johnson continued her hot streak, mashing five home runs while holding a 2.182 SLG%. She now leads the Rangers in batting average on the year with .402. Her home run total of 14 ranks first in the GLIAC in third in Division II.
 
Davenport
The Panthers enter the weekend at 15-15 overall and 6-4 in conference play. They are coming off a sweep of PNW back on Tuesday at home.
 
Davenport's offense is led by Savanna Disbrow. Disbrow is swinging a .315 average and has driven in 16 runs, tied for most on the team. Teammate Ally Prasnjak follows right behind her with 16 RBIs herself. She swings a .284 average with a team leading .477 SLG%. Prasnjak also holds three home runs on the year, most of any Panther.
 
In the circle the Panthers look to Haley Whisman. She enters the weekend with an 8-6 record and a 3.02 ERA through over 85 innings of work. Teammate Hannah Tahaney has a 3.24 ERA and has thrown two shutouts to lead the Panthers in the category.
 
Ferris State
The Bulldogs are slated to play Thursday against Saginaw Valley State to open their week. They'll play a total of six games in the span of four days with a doubleheader with Roosevelt slated on Saturday before taking on the Rangers on Sunday. They currently hold a 15-9 overall record and a 4-4 record in GLIAC play.
 
Their offense is led by Alexis Kozlowski who is swinging a .384 average. She has driven in a team leading 24 RBIs entering today. She also leads the Bulldogs in triples (4) and in home runs (3).
 
The Bulldogs look to Cecelia Bell in the circle. She's thrown more innings than any other Bulldog at 57. She holds a 2.58 ERA entering today. Teammate Catherine O'Donohue helps deliver a one two pitching punch for the Bulldogs. She holds a team low 2.33 ERA through 42 innings of work.
