KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside softball team is set for their final regular season games this weekend. The Rangers will host both Davenport and Ferris State in doubleheader action at the Case Softball Complex. Parkside will open the weekend on Saturday hosting Davenport. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. CDT. They will follow up on that Sunday to host Ferris State. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. CDT. The Rangers
Parkside enters the weekend with a 23-20 overall record and a 12-11 record in GLIAC play. When the Rangers last played at home they took on PNW, winning the first game of the doubleheader before game two was postponed due to weather. Parkside would cruise to a 9-1 run rule victory. The Rangers then closed out the weekend with a split of Grand Valley State.
Entering this week the Rangers offense is led by
Mia Johnson,
Haley Remington, and
Ava Swain, who are all batting over .300 on the season. Johnson has continued to tear it up at the plate for the Rangers with a team leading .369 average along with a GLIAC leading 17 home runs on the season.
Davenport
The Panthers are at a critical point in the season. Holding a 17-27 overall record, their 8-16 GLIAC record has them in seventh place in the conference standings, just one place out from clinching a spot in the conference tournament. They sit just a game behind Roosevelt and are slated to open the weekend in Rosemont.
Their top bat is Ally Prasnjak. She holds a team high .279 batting average with 36 hits on the year. She has also slugged a team high four home runs on the year. She also leads the team in runs batted in with 25.
In the circle, the Panthers look to Hailey Whisman. Whisman holds a team low ERA of 4.00 and pairs it with a team high nine wins on the year. She has over 120 innings of work so far this season. Hannah Tahaney follows close behind with a 4.23 ERA through 81 innings of work.
Ferris State
The regionally ranked Bulldogs sit third in the GLIAC with an 24-16 overall record and 13-11 conference record. The last time the Bulldogs and Rangers faced each other back on April 6
th. FSU would get the better of the Rangers, completing the two game sweep.
The Bulldogs offense is led by Alexis Koslowski. She holds a .352 batting average through 40 games played. She has 36 RBIs to her credit and pairs it with a team leading four long balls.
On the defensive side the Bulldogs look to Cecilia Ball. She has tossed over 100 innings of work while posting a 2.50 ERA, good enough for the second best in the conference. Catherine O'Donohue leads the teams with str
