INDIANAPOLIS -- Parkside Track & Field took center stage on Friday afternoon with Rachel Blaskowski and Sean Waldvogel competing at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships.
"Heck of a day for Parkside Track and Field," remarked Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Nick Maas. "Rachel battled all season to get herself to the runway and earned her second All-American Honor which is awesome!Â
"Sean stayed composed and confident the whole race and perfectly timed his last lap to get himself into the final. He's now poised to be the first All-American on the men's side since 2006. Talk about a guy who works very hard and does the right things, coming in and earning it in his 5th year. So very proud of both of them and on to day two for Sean to see if we can surprise some people."
Blaskowksi finished seventh in the long jump earning her All-American honors for the second time in her decorated career. After scratching the first jump of the day, Blaskowksi recorded a mark of 5.97m (19'7"). With that mark, she qualified for the finals and secured a seventh-place finish and All-American honors.Â
Waldvogel raced his way into the 800-meter finals with a huge final lap on Friday. Entering the final 200 meters Sean was in fifth place in his heat, but made up the ground, finishing second in his heat and second overall. His time of 1:50.22 was just one-hundredth of a second behind the top time. He will be seeded second on Saturday when he races for a National Championship at 4:10pm (ET) on Saturday afternoon.Â
