INDIANAPOLIS -- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling team delivered an impressive performance on day one of the 46
th Annual Midwest Classic, hosted by the University of Indianapolis, with seven Rangers remaining undefeated and two fighting back in the consolation bracket. Parkside sits in second place as a team, behind Pitt-Johnstown by 8.5 points.

Brady Schuh, all who showcased impressive performances, earning a spot in the quarterfinals. Additionally,
Elon Rodriguez and
Jordan Blanchard won their first bout in the consolation bracket, looking to take third place on day two.
How it happened:
Shane Corrigan (125lbs): After receiving a bye, Corrigan followed up with a major decision victory (21-9) over Adonias Cantu of Colorado Mesa and a (7-3) decision win over ninth-ranked Kaden Kuenzi of Lander, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Elon Rodriguez (133lbs): Starting the day off after a bye, Rodriguez won by major decision (14-5) over Alex McMiller of Emmanuel. In his next bout, he lost in a (5-4) decision to Dawson Schmit of Upper Iowa, before winning his final bout of the day in a (13-6) decision over Hunter Jacobsen of Chadron State, looking for a third place finish on day two.
Emmett Nelson (141lbs): Nelson won his opening bout of the day by fall at 6:52 over Daiyan Heard of Coker, he followed that up with a (9-6) decision win over Bret Minnick. In his third bout, he defeated George Maholtz of Lander in a (17-2) tech fall, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Jalen Spuhler (149lbs): Spuhler started the day off strong with a (10-2) major decision victory over Connor Saylor of Gannon. In his second bout of the day, he won by fall at 3:43 over Buddy Leonard of Davenport. Spuhler won by major decision (16-3) in his final bout of the day over Avery Buonocore of UNC Pembroke, securing a spot in the quarterfinals.
Easton Worachek (157lbs): Worachek won his opening bout of the day in a (12-0) major decision over Sammy Mobly of Colorado Mesa. He then won by tech fall (18-3) over Eli Means of Newman. In his final bout of the day, Easton won by a (5-2) decision over Jimmie Bailes of Glenville State, moving onto the quarterfinals.
Brody Hemauer (165lbs): After receiving a bye, Hemauer started his day off strong with a fall at 1:29 over Seth Holt of Salem. In his second bout of the day, he won by major decision (9-1) over Lane Ewing from UMary, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Dajun Johnson (174lbs): Johnson also started the day off with a bye, followed up by a (15-0) tech fall win over Nolan Mckelvy of Kentucky Wesleyan. In his next bout, he won by a (15-7) major decision over Dillon Walker of Gannon, earning a spot in the quarterfinals.
Brady Schuh (184lbs): After a first round bye, Schuh won by a (10-6) decision over JT Spence of Lander. In his next bout, he won in sudden victory (4-1) decision over Bradley Mayse of Grand Valley, with a late takedown to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
Jordan Blanchard (197lbs): Blanchard opened his first bout of the day with a fall at just 1:09 over Wade Mettling of Thomas More, after having a first-round bye. He lost his next bout in a (4-2) decision to 11
th ranked David Bertrand of King, but defeated Xander Kenworth of Southwest Minnesota State in a (13-2) major decision, looking to secure a third place finish on day two.
Cooper Caraway (285lbs): Caraway started his day winning by default. In his second bout, he won in a (6-3) decision over Orest Nazarchuk. He fell in his next bout to first ranked Isaiah Vance of Pitt-Johnstown and then again to Ruben Samuelson of Colorado Mesa by fall.
The Rangers will return to action tomorrow morning for day two of the Midwest Classic, starting at 8:30 AM C.T.
