The Parkside Volleyball team continued to rack up conference recognition this week, as freshman Avary Polavin and junior Natalie Harris have been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Players of the Week. Polavin was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Harris earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Polavin captured her first career GLIAC weekly honor after a breakout weekend that helped lead the Rangers to a pair of three-set sweeps over Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech. The freshman outside hitter posted 28 kills across the two matches, averaging 4.67 kills per set while hitting an impressive .356. She led Parkside in kills, kills per set, and total points (30), while also contributing four blocks on the weekend. This marks the fifth time this season a Ranger has been recognized as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week — the most of any program in the conference.

Harris claimed her third GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award of the season, tied for the most among all players in the league. The junior libero anchored the Ranger defense, tallying 40 digs over the weekend and averaging 6.67 digs per set. Harris continues to lead the GLIAC in total digs with 444 — 93 more than the next closest player — as she continues to pace one of the top defensive units in the conference.

Parkside Volleyball has now earned eight total GLIAC Player of the Week honors this season which is the most in the league this season.
