Rangers Hit the Road to Face Roosevelt and Purdue Northwest

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside volleyball team is set for its final road trip of the regular season, traveling to face Roosevelt University on Thursday before taking on Purdue Northwest on Saturday. The Rangers enter the weekend sitting in fifth place in the GLIAC standings and have officially clinched a berth in the 2025 GLIAC Volleyball Tournament.

The Rangers have been one of the GLIAC's most consistent and competitive teams, showing strength on both offense and defense. Parkside enters the week with a 16-6 overall record and a 7-5 mark in GLIAC play, sitting in fifth place in the conference standings. The team's success has been fueled by standout performances across the lineup, including Avary Polavin, the reigning GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, who hit .356 across two matches with 26 total kills, averaging 4.67 kills per set. On defense, Natalie Harris continues to shine as the reigning GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, earning the honor for the third time this season after totaling 40 digs over two sweeps against Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan. Nationally, Harris ranks 12th in digs per set (5.48) while leading the conference in total digs (444) and sitting second in service aces (35). Offensively, Ava Irvin and Sam Fisch rank third and fourth in the GLIAC in kills per set at 3.46 and 3.42, respectively. As a team, Parkside ranks 20th in the nation and first in the GLIAC in assists per set (12.86) and is tied for first in total service aces (163) alongside Saginaw Valley.

Scouting Roosevelt:
Roosevelt enters Thursday's matchup sitting 10th in the GLIAC standings with a 1-11 conference record. The Lakers are led offensively by Alessia Isgro, who has totaled 179 kills on the season, while Cydney Martinez anchors the defense with a team-high 243 digs. The Rangers have had success in the series history, holding a 3-0 all-time record against the Lakers, including a sweep earlier this season at De Simone Arena.

Scouting Purdue Northwest:
Purdue Northwest enters the weekend tied for seventh in the GLIAC standings with a 6-6 conference record. The Pride have been one of the league's most dangerous serving teams, ranking second in the GLIAC in aces per set (2.00). Marina Gronkiewicz leads the conference in total service aces with 43 and has recorded one triple-double this season. Defensively, Livia Thomsen ranks second in the GLIAC in digs per set at 4.74, while Arra Cottrell leads the team offensively with 224 total kills. Historically, Parkside has dominated the series, holding a 16-1 record against Purdue Northwest, including a 3-1 victory earlier this season at De Simone Arena.
