SCOUTING LEWIS:
Lewis enters Tuesday with a 1-4 record but has faced a demanding early-season schedule that includes three GLIAC opponents and two games at the Division II Midwest Tip-Off in Wisconsin Dells. The Flyers dropped matchups to Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan before earning their first win of the season in a 48-42 victory over Davenport during last Thursday's home opener. Last season, Lewis went 26-4 overall, dominated GLVC play at 19-1, and captured its second straight regular-season title before qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. This year, the Flyers were picked third in the GLVC preseason poll and are led by first-year head coach Dodie Dunson, who arrives from Division I Evansville.
Statistically, Lewis is averaging 56.0 points per game on 36.3 percent shooting, including 21.7 percent from beyond the arc. The Flyers have struggled on the glass with a -6.6 rebounding margin and are shooting 58.1 percent at the free-throw line. Mallory Ramage leads the team with 13.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, followed by Yahaira Bueno at 12.6 points per game with a team-high 15 assists. Ally Cesarini adds 11.2 points and 3.8 rebounds, while forward Jasmine Jones provides interior production with 9.4 points and 7.0 rebounds on 51.4 percent shooting.
Lewis leads the all-time series 38-22 and has taken seven of the last ten meetings, including a 68-61 win in Kenosha last season. Parkside, however, won the last matchup played in Romeoville and is 7-18 all-time at Neil Carey Arena.
SCOUTING NO. 8 MINNESOTA STATE–MANKATO:
On Saturday, Parkside travels north for one of the most challenging tests in the region, taking on an undefeated Minnesota State–Mankato squad that has surged to No. 8 in the nation. The Mavericks are 5-0 and have scored at least 94 points in every contest, averaging an explosive 101.6 points per game while outscoring their opponents by 35 points per outing. They are coming off a 94-66 win over Colorado School of Mines and jumped seven spots in the latest WBCA national poll.
Minnesota State is shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from three, while hitting 78.4 percent of its free throws. Defensively, the Mavericks pressure at one of the highest levels in Division II, forcing 38 turnovers per game and averaging 23.8 steals. They also own a +6.6 rebounding margin. The team returns 13 players and seven seniors from last season's 25-8 squad that finished 12-0 at home and reached the second round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament. Senior guard Natalie Bremer, the NSIC South Division Preseason Player of the Year, leads the team with 17.0 points per game on 47.7 percent shooting and has hit 18 of her first 19 free throws while recording 11 steals. The Mavericks feature a deep rotation, with Haylee Stokes, Rhyan Holmgren, Elisabeth Gadient, Mackenzie Schweim, and Ava Stier all averaging between 6.8 and 9.4 points per game.
Minnesota State holds an 10-0 lead in the all-time series against Parkside and is 5-0 at home against the Rangers, with the series dating back to 1988.

Parkside returns to DeSimone Arena in early December to open GLIAC play, hosting Northern Michigan on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. before welcoming Michigan Tech on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m.
