Rangers Hit the Road for GLIAC Tests at Wayne State and No.21 Grand Valley State

The Parkside Rangers are back on the road this weekend for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) matchups, taking on Wayne State on Friday before facing No. 21 Grand Valley State on Saturday. As the fourth week of conference play gets underway, the Rangers look to maintain their momentum and continue climbing the GLIAC standings.

Parkside has put together an impressive start to the 2025 campaign, entering the weekend at 10-3 overall and 3-3 in GLIAC play, currently sitting seventh in the conference standings. The Rangers lead the GLIAC in assists per set, total assists, team digs, and team kills, highlighting their balance and consistency across the board. Individually, libero Natalie Harris has been one of the top defensive players in the nation, ranking fifth nationally and first in the conference with 5.78 digs per set. She also sits 17th nationally and first in the GLIAC with 289 total digs, while ranking second in the league with 23 service aces. Offensively, Ava Irvin continues to pace the Rangers' attack, ranking third in the GLIAC with 3.58 kills per set and second with 179 total kills.

Scouting Wayne State:
Wayne State comes into Friday's matchup sitting third in the GLIAC standings with an overall record of 10-3 and a 4-2 mark in conference play. The Warriors have been one of the league's most efficient teams, ranking second in kills per set (13.34) and second in opponent hitting percentage, limiting teams to just .134. Kayla Giroux has been a standout performer, earning GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. She ranks second in the conference with 3.66 kills per set, fourth in total kills with 172, and second in hitting percentage at .379. Setter Kayla Dulgar has also claimed GLIAC Setter of the Week honors twice this season and currently ranks second in the conference with 10.26 assists per set and third in total assists with 482. Parkside enters the matchup with an all-time record of 6-9 against Wayne State. In their most recent meeting, the Warriors came away with a 3-0 victory. 

Scouting Grand Valley:
The Rangers will wrap up their weekend on Saturday with a marquee matchup against No. 21 Grand Valley State, one of the top teams in the nation. Grand Valley ranks 16th nationally and first in the GLIAC in blocks per set (2.48), while also ranking 16th in the nation and first in the conference in opponent hitting percentage, holding teams to just .132. Offensively, the Lakers lead the GLIAC in hitting percentage at .257, showcasing their balance and efficiency on both sides of the ball. Individually, Meghan O'Sullivan has been a key contributor for the Lakers, earning GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors earlier this season. She has recorded three triple-doubles this year, ranking second in the nation. Brianna Stawski has also been a force at the net, earning GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Stawski ranks 17th nationally and first in the conference in blocks per set (1.31), while also leading the GLIAC in total blocks with 63. She has been one of the most efficient attackers in the nation, ranking 14th nationally and first in the conference with a .392 hitting percentage. The Rangers are 2-11 all-time against Grand Valley State, and in their most recent matchup, the Lakers earned a 3-1 victory.
