Palmer's Big Night Lifts Rangers to Second Consecutive GLIAC Victory over Lakers

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside men's basketball played in De Simone Arena for the first time in 2025 on Monday night. The Rangers took on the Roosevelt Lakers in GLIAC action, picking up their second consecutive conference win 75-70.

  • Three different Rangers reached double digits in the scoring column in the victory. Josiah Palmer led the way with 20 points. Jack Rose added 17 points while teammate Nick Brown had a solid evening with 12 points and seven rebounds.
  • As a team, the Rangers shot 49.1% from the field. Parkside also shot a season best 52.2% from three-point territory.
 
How it Happened
The first half of action featured plenty of back-and-forth basketball. The Rangers would take control at the 11:58 mark on an Ethan Ivan three pointer. The Rangers would hold the advantage, building their lead to as much as six points with 9:13 remaining in the opening half. The Lakers would claw back into it, utilizing a jumper at the end of the half to even things up at 40 points apiece.
 
The Rangers at the half were led by Ivan, who would pour in all eight of his points in the first half of action. Josiah Palmer would also contribute offensively with five assists at the half to lead the Parkside offense.
 
Parkside would trade the lead three times with the Lakers in the first three minutes of the second half. The Lakers would then ride a 16-5 run to take the lead at 58-50 with 11:30 remaining in the game. The Rangers would face their largest deficit of the game while remaining in striking distance. From there the Rangers would kick-start a 10-3 run to bring things back even at 60 points. The run was closed out by back-to-back Jack Rose triples.
 
The Lakers would answer back with two three pointers of their own to regain their lead at 66-60 with 5:18 left. The Rangers weren't done yet as Palmer would score 11 of the Rangers final 15 points to put the game out of reach for the Lakers. Rose would hit two crucial three throws in the waning seconds of the game to ice a 75-70 victory for Parkside.
