Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Parkside men's basketball team returned to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers took on the Panthers of Davenport University. The hot shooting Rangers took down the Panthers 74-62.

- The Rangers took care of the basketball in the victory, only committing seven turnovers tying a season low.
- Josiah Palmer stayed hot collecting 24 points while shooting 7-15 from the field. He also added six assists and two boards.
- Jack Rose aided the Rangers with 18 points on the afternoon. Rose shot a blazing 50% from three, draining four.
How it Happened
The Rangers got out to a hot start, getting off to a quick 8-0 run from the tip. The Rangers would swell their lead to as much as 15 points midway through the first half. The Panthers would get their offensive footing in the backend of the opening half. They would mount an 11-2 run to close out the second half to cut the Ranger lead to just four points heading into the half 31-27.
Davenport would come out in the second half continuing to put the pressure on Parkside. They would launch a 10-3 run to take the lead from the Rangers for the first time 34-33. The two sides would play back and forth basketball through the first five minutes of the second half. A
Josiah Palmer three pointer at the 15:13 mark would kickstart an 18-7 run to give the Rangers a bit of distance from the Panthers 55-46.
The Panthers would keep things interesting, mounting another 11-2 late game run to cut into the Ranger lead 60-63.
Jack Rose would nail a three pointer with 2:15 left to give Parkside six point lead in the final minutes of the game. Rose's three would give the Rangers enough momentum to hold off the Panthers 72-64.
