Despite making the trip to Hammond for their first road conference match of the season, the Rangers were ready to roar from the get-go. Early in the first set, kills from Sam Fisch and Mariena Coon gave the Rangers the advantage, and from their fourth point on, they led the rest of the set. Elizabeth Truckenbrod caught fire midway through, registering three kills in the set, and the Rangers dominated the opening set. Marisa Lootens put the cherry on top, ending the set with back-to-back service aces. She finished with four in the match.
The second set went differently but concluded with the same result. The Pride led 23-18 before a Rangers run ruined the party for the home team. Kills from Sam Fisch and Marisa Lootens helped spark a five-point run that drew the Rangers even. They clinched the critical set 27-25 after numerous attack errors from the Pride.
From there on out, the Rangers had their foot on the gas. Sierra Kilbourn completely took over, nailing down five kills in the final set. Sam Fisch executed two of the last three points for the Rangers, and they won the third set 25-21, sweeping the Purdue Northwest Pride.
