Rangers Pull Off Thrilling Five-Set Victory

Kenosha, Wis. – The Parkside Rangers bounced back from a loss last night with a five-set victory over the Michigan Tech Huskies. In a back-and-forth battle at De Simone Arena, the Rangers claimed the win with standout performances from all around, but from specifically Sam Fisch and Natalie Harris.

How it happened: 
The Rangers started the afternoon with a bang, claiming victory in the first set against the Huskies. On the attacking side, sophomore Sierra Kelbourn stepped up with five first-set kills, while Sam Fisch tallied four kills of her own to begin her monster night. The Rangers also made a statement in blocking, recording four total blocks in the 25-22 set victory, with contributions from Elizabeth Truckenbrod, Lindsay Krznarich, and Mariena Coon. The recorded 15 total blocks in the match. 

After the Huskies took the second set, the Rangers demonstrated resilience, bouncing back to take set three. Sam Fisch notched five more kills, bringing her total to 11 by that point. As a team, the Rangers swung at an impressive .484, with additional production from Elizabeth Truckenbrod and Sierra Kilbourn. On defense, Natalie Harris was relentless, racking up seven digs in the set alone. The Rangers won set three, 25-22.

The Huskies edged the Rangers in a closely contested fourth set, 25-23. However, the Rangers regrouped once more and responded in the fifth set. In a thrilling final set that featured nine ties and six lead changes, the Rangers emerged victorious, 15-12. Sam Fisch capped off her tremendous night with five kills in the final set, while Elizabeth Truckenbrod added three more to secure the win.

Karlee Lois and Lily Ray orchestrated the offense, combining for 51 total assists. With this win, the Rangers improved their overall record to 5-5 and evened their GLIAC record at 1-1.
