How it happened:
The Rangers came out strong, dominating the first two sets of the match. Ava Irvin and Sam Fisch began their big nights early, hammering attacks into the ground to give the Rangers momentum. Irvin tallied six kills in the first set, and the team finished with an impressive .438 attacking percentage. Additionally, the Rangers aced the Peacocks five times, with Lindsay Krznarich contributing two aces in the opening set.
In the second set, the Rangers left no doubts. There were zero lead changes or ties as Parkside took the set 25-16. Timely kills by Elizabeth Truckenbrod and Lindsay Krznarich made the difference. Parkside's libero, Natalie Harris, added to her standout performance with a dig-kill, and she led the match with 16 digs.
After dropping the third set, the Rangers mounted a late comeback in the fourth to avoid a fifth set. Trailing 23-19, Parkside rode the energy of the home crowd to score the final six points and seal the victory. Sam Fisch delivered clutch kills down the stretch as the Rangers repeatedly turned to her. Both Fisch and Irvin had six kills each in the final set. A Natalie Harris ace capped off the come-from-behind win over Upper Iowa.
