PARK CITY, KS – The No. 7 ranked Parkside wrestling team competed in the final day of competition at the 2024 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championship. Four Rangers competed in
Shane Corrigan,
Jalen Spuhler,
Brody Hemauer, and
Reece Worachek. As a team the Rangers finished in seventh place.
With a team finish of seventh place, it's the best finish the Rangers have had since 2018 when they finished third.
No. 2
Shane Corrigan finished his 2024 national title quest in sixth place. Corrigan dropped his semi-final match to Christian Mejia of McKendree. Mejia went on to win the title in the 125 lbs weight class. Shane would fall in his final two matches of the day, finishing in sixth place at 125 lbs. Corrigan finishes his season with a 30-5 record and is an All-American for the second consecutive year.
Jalen Spuhler ended his title run in sixth place. Spuhler wrestled on the backend of the bracket for the entire day, securing an opening day win by tech fall in 4:04 over Devan Moore of Newberry. Spuhler would then fall in his following two matches, leading to a sixth place finish in the 149 lbs weight class. Jalen rounds out his season with a 27-10 record and is an All-American for the second consecutive year.
No. 8
Brody Hemauer rounded out his season with a sixth place finish at Nationals. Hemauer wrestled in the semifinal match against No. 4 Josh Kenny of Grand Valley State and would drop the match. Kenny would go on to win the title at 174 lbs. Brody would then wrestle on the backend of the bracket and drop his final two matches giving him a sixth place finish in the 174 lbs weight class. He finishes his season with a 24-12 record and is a first time All-American.

Reece Worachek earned the best Ranger finish of the Tournament with a fourth place finish. Worachek dropped his Semifinal match to Ty McGeary of West Liberty and entered the backend of the bracket. Reece recovered nicely, picking up a victory in the Consolation Semifinal match in a 4-2 decision over No. 4 Garrett Wells. Worachek would fall in the third place match, leading to a fourth place finish in the 184 lbs weight class. He ends his season with a 28-7 record and becomes a three time All-American.
