KENOSHA, Wis. - The Parkside men's basketball program is set to open the month of December by opening GLIAC play. The Rangers will take the trip up north to the upper peninsula to take on Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan. The action kicks off on Thursday in Houghton as the Rangers and Huskies will square off with a 7:30 p.m. EST tip. Parkside will then take on Northern Michigan on Saturday with a 2 p.m. EST tip off.

Scouting Michigan Tech
The Huskies enter GLIAC play after going 4-3 to open the season, including a massive upset win over then No. 3 Minnesota-Moorhead. The Huskies as a team are averaging 76.4 points per game while shooting 48.5% from the field.
MTU is lead by the Preseason GLIAC Player of the Year Marcus Tomashek. Tomashek enters Thursday's game averaging 27.1 ppg, good enough to lead the GLIAC and ranks 7th nationally in Division II. The guard is shooting an amazing 48.2% from the field. He shoots the deep ball at a 33.3% clip as well. The Huskies have three other players averaging double figures in scoring in Dawson Nordgaard, Pete Calcaterra, and Ty Fernholz. Calcaterra is the Huskies leading rebounder, pulling down an average of 5.4 boards per game.
History
The Rangers are 11-18 all time against the Huskies. Last season MTU took both games of the two game series.
Scouting Northern Michigan
The Wildcats enter the week with a 4-2 overall record. NMU's offense is producing an average of 74.4 ppg while shooting at a 46.2% clip. From deep the Wildcats are shooting 35.4%.
Northern Michigan is lead offensively by Julien Smith and Dylan Keuhl. Smith leads the Wildcats with 14.7 ppg with Keuhl close behind at 14.3 ppg. The Wildcats' front court is lethal offensively with both forwards averaging double digits in Keuhl and Sam Privet who averages 11.5 pgg. Privet is shooting the ball at a high rate, leading the team in shooting percentage at 76.5%. He has also knocked down 7 of his 10 three point attempts this season.
History
Northern Michigan holds the upper hand in the all-time series at 25-13. Last season the Wildcats were able to top the Rangers in both games.
