BAY CITY, Mich. — Parkside men's basketball placed three players on the All-GLIAC teams, the conference office announced Monday, with Josiah Palmer and Paxton Warden earning All-GLIAC Second Team honors while Fawaz Surakat was named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team. The awards were voted on by the league's head coaches.
Palmer, a graduate guard, earns his third career All-GLIAC selection after being named First Team last season and Second Team in 2024. In his final season as a Ranger, Palmer averaged 12.4 points per game and scored 311 total points while leading the team with 3.1 assists per game — sixth in the GLIAC.
One of the conference's top perimeter shooters, Palmer led the Rangers in three-point percentage at just under 40% while knocking down 62 three-pointers, ranking among the top 10 in the GLIAC. On Jan. 31 at Lake Superior State, Palmer became Parkside's all-time leader in career three-pointers with his 260th make from deep. He finishes his Ranger career with 278 made three-pointers and 1,595 career points, which ranks fifth in program history.
Warden, a senior guard, also earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors in his first and only season with the Rangers. He led Parkside in scoring with 18.7 points per game, finishing fourth in the GLIAC in scoring.
Warden was also among the conference's most efficient scorers, ranking fifth in the league in field-goal percentage at 45.5% while making the fourth-most field goals in the conference with 162. He logged more minutes than any Ranger this season at 32.7 per game while adding 4.2 rebounds per contest — third on the team — and shooting 34% from three-point range.
Surakat, a senior forward, earns All-GLIAC Defensive Team honors for the first time in his career after anchoring the Rangers defensively throughout the season. A two-time GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week this year, Surakat ranked second in the conference and 25th nationally with 51 total blocks, averaging 1.9 per game.
In the season opener against Upper Iowa, Surakat set a career high with six blocks in a single game. He also led the Rangers in rebounding and ranked fourth in the GLIAC with 7.1 rebounds per game, including just under five defensive rebounds per contest — fourth in the conference. Offensively, Surakat averaged 7.3 points per game, fourth-most on the team.
