Scouting Saginaw Valley State
The Cardinals enter the new year sitting at 3-9 and having been on the losing side in their last six games. SVSU also sits a 0-2 in GLIAC play dropping to Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan.
So far this season the Cardinals are being led by junior Aleshia Jones who is averaging 13.5 ppg and 7 rpg. She dropped a season high 34 points in their season opener against Northwood and has scored in double digits in all but three games.

Series History
The Rangers will enter Thursday's contest on a 4 game win streak against the Cardinals. The last loss the Parkside had against SVSU was back on 1/30/2021 in a 76-69 decision. The all-time series  record favors the Rangers 10-3.

Scouting Wayne State
The Warriors enter 2024 with an impressive 8-3 record and 1-1 in the GLIAC. Wayne State capped off 2023 with a 17 point loss to Northwood 84-67. In conference play they opened with a split, losing at Northern Michigan but bouncing back to pick up the victory against Michigan Tech. The Warriors are great at home, proving the home court advantage is pivotal with a 4-0 record. The Rangers will look to break that streak.
Statistically, Wayne State is lead offensively by Shea Tripp. The junior is currently averaging a team best 15 ppg. Her play has not gone unnoticed as she received conference recognition by receiving GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for week one after back to back 20 point performances against Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech. Tripp was also voted GLIAC Preseason Second Team prior to the start of the season.

Series History
Last season the series belonged the the Rangers, as they went 2-0 last year. They will look to grow that win streak to 3 on Saturday. The Rangers have only won 3 of their last 8 match-ups with the Warriors. The series record barely sits in Parkside's favor as they have won 7 games and dropped 6 against Wayne State in program history.
