KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside women's basketball team will open the 2026-27 season on Monday afternoon, hosting Minnesota State, Mankato, who was ranked seventh in the WBCA preseason poll.
The Rangers look to open the season on a high note after being picked third in the GLIAC preseason coaches' poll. Parkside has started each of the past two seasons with wins, but have not won a home opener since 2022.
Minnesota State has owned the series between the two schools, never losing to the Rangers, however last time the two sides met in Kenosha, it was a close one possession game till late in the fourth when the Rangers needed to foul. The Mavericks took advantage of their foul shots and pulled away to win 82-75.
Cassidy Arni had 20 points on 8-13 shooting in Mankato last season, while Lillie Petersen had 18 and Katie Hamill had 11. Turnovers were the difference with the Mavericks winning the turnover battle by seven.
Monday will be the first of three home non-conference games on the schedule for ninth-year head coach Jen Conley and the Rangers. After Monday Parkside will return to De Simone for non-conference home games on Nov. 21 against the University of Illinois Springfield and on Nov. 25 against Lewis.
