UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Parkside men's soccer team traveled over to Michigan on Friday afternoon for another GLIAC matchup against Saginaw Valley State. Parkside entered the match after picking up two important GLIAC wins in the weekend previous and looked to ride that momentum in the match on the road. The Rangers handled business as they topped the Cardinals in a 3-1 scoreline.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers came out hot the start the match. Just five minutes into the match choas in the box and an uncleared ball fell to the feet of Edgar Heredia Victoria at the top of the 18-yard box. Heredia Victoria took the shot on his first touch and rifled the ball pass the Cardinal goalkeeper to put the Rangers up 1-0 early in the match.
The offensive attack didn't stop there. In the 19th minute Kaffie Kurz sent a service into the box. Chris Estrada capitalized on the service and put the ball in the back of the net to add to the Ranger lead 2-0. Kurz is credited with the assist on the goal.
The goal scoring continued in the final minutes of the first half. Parkside countered and built from their defensive third all the way down the field. Jules Peycelon sent a ball across the face of the goal and found Bryan Torres in his first match back since playing against Maryville back on Sept. 10. Torres finished the Peycelon service and padded the Ranger lead heading into the half up 3-0.
The Cardinals didn't go down without a fight as they searched to find goals in the second half. The breakthrough came in the 68th minute for SVSU. Mzo Mthembu's goal made the score 3-1 still in favor of the Rangers and the final score would remain the same.
