KENOSHA, WI - The Parkside Rangers won three consecutive sets after dropping the opening set on Friday night. Parkside held a sizable lead in set one but couldn't close it out, but the Rangers would recover and down the visiting Michigan Tech Huskies by a final score of 3-1.Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:Â
In their first GLIAC home game of the season, the Rangers were tasked with Michigan Tech, a team they hadn't beaten since 2015. The Rangers looked hot out of the gate and held a strong lead, but surrendered it and dropped the first set.Â
It took no time for Parkside to jump back into the right column as their force was led by Truckenbrod. She racked up seven kills in the second set alone. Ava Irvin was right on her tail, with five terminations as well. Parkside edged out Michigan Tech, winning the set 25-21.Â
The rest of the game was all Parkside. Dominating the final two sets behind career performances. Truckenbrod finished her night with a Rangers season best, 19 kills. Elle crushed her career high that she set for herself just last weekend with 13.Â
On the topic of career nights, Harris had one for herself. The freshman dug out 18 attacks, which was also a career high.
The Rangers won in four sets (23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-20). They advanced to (7-4) overall, and (2-1) in conference play. They welcome Northern Michigan University tomorrow, the contest begins at 2:00 p.m. (CT), all coverage can be found here,
