Rangers Drop Two To Saginaw Valley St.

KENOSHA, Wis. ---  The Parkside baseball team closed out the weekend series with the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals on Saturday afternoon. Parkside was unable to come away with a win on the day, falling by scores of 22-7 and 10-5. 
 
GAME ONE
Andrew Harris led the offense in game one, going 2-3 with a homer and three RBIs. 
 
The Cardinals struck first, plating a run on a sac fly. Parkside answered back in the bottom of the first, plating one on an RBI fielder's choice, and a second run on a throwing error when Harris stole second. 
 
Saginaw Valley blew the game open in the top of the third. The Cardinals plated ten runs in the inning on six hits to grab a 11-4 lead. Parkside got a pair of runs back in the bottom half when Harris launched a two run homerun over the fence in left. 
 
SVSU continued their offensive roll, ultimately beating Parkside by a final score of 22-7. 
 
GAME TWO
Ryan Brouch and Harris were the top offensive performers in game two for Parkside. They each went 2-5 on the day with a homerun in the first. Caden Bronkhorst was solid in relief, throwing four and a third innings while allowing just one earned run on two hits. He struck out four. 
 
After the Cardinals scored in the top of the first Parkside was able to take the lead in the bottom half.  With one out Brouch lifted a 1-2 pitch out to left, tying the game at one. Harris then followed with a homerun of his own, lifting a 2-2 pitch out to left. 
 
Saginaw Valley scored the next three runs, scoring on in the second and two in the third to take a 4-2 lead. The Rangers pulled back within one in the bottom of the third, plating a run on an Emanuel Andujar Ferreira single to right. 
 
The Cardinals extended the lead again late, plating three in the fifth and an unearned run in the eighth. Parkside pulled within 8-4 in the bottom of the eighth, plating a run on a Patrick Connolly sac fly. 
 
Each team added on a run in the ninth, giving SVSU a 10-5 win over the Rangers.
