Rangers Drop Series Opener to Davenport

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --- The Parkside Rangers baseball team hit the road on Friday afternoon, taking on the Davenport Panthers in doubleheader action. The Rangers could not come away with a win on the day, falling by scores of 10-3 and 10-2.
 
GAME ONE
Angel Rades, Max Bruff, and Andrew Harris all had two hits in the contest. Rades led the team with two runs scored. He also hit a solo home run.
 
Parkside struck first in the opening game of the day, with Bruff coming into score on a Harris single to center. Davenport answered, scoring six runs over the next two innings.
 
The Rangers got a run back in the top of the third on a Rades homer to right field. Parkside scored one more run in the top of the fifth on a Bruff single to right but ultimately would fall by a final score of 10-3.
 
GAME TWO
Michael Zordani was stellar in relief, throwing the final five and two-thirds innings while allowing just one unearned run on five hits. Emanuel Andujar Ferreira was the top offensive player, going 3-4 with a run scored.
 
Davenport scored the opening ten runs of the game, scoring all of the runs over the first three innings. From there Zordani and the Ranger defense shut the Panthers down. Parkside scored in the top of the fifth, plating two runs on a throwing error.
 
Parkside fell by a final score of 10-2.
