Coach Reigel's Thoughts... "It has been a great week of prep and we benefitted from the longer rest. This gave some of our players who have been banged up enough time to be ready for Saturday. This is such a tremendous opportunity for our current group of players. The Midwest Regional is always a great event, and we are very excited about making the trip to Indianapolis. We know we will play a very good UMSL team, but we look forward to the opportunity.  There just isn't anything better than playing big games in March. We are hoping to extend this season as long as possible."

Against The Region... The Rangers have competed against five of the eight teams in the region and have a 4-2 record in those contests.

Fake News... The Rangers were picked seventh in the 2022-23 GLIAC preseason poll, as voted on by the league head coaches. Parkside would then go on to win the GLIAC regular season title, their second since joining the conference in 2018.

Bello's World... Sophomore Rasheed Bello has had a breakout season in 2022-23, the 2022 GLIAC Freshman of the Year took it one step further this season, winning the GLIAC Player of the Year along with being recognized on the GLIAC All-Defensive team. The Chicago native is averaging 18.0 points per game, which is the third highest in the GLIAC. More impressively, Bello has 72 steals on the year, which leads the GLIAC and is fourth most in NCAA Division II.

Mr. 300 (Almost)... Head Coach Luke Reigel is in his 20th season at the helm of the Rangers and sports a 297-264 career record. With three more wins, Reigel would become the first coach in program history to reach 300 career wins. The 2023 NCAA Tournament will be the seventh that Reigel has coached the Rangers into, with the most recent appearance coming in 2017.

Going on a Run... The Rangers have had multiple winning streaks this season, with a season-long streak of six between December 1st and 19th. Parkside enters the NCAA tournament winners of eight of their last ten. The Rangers also have not lost back-to-back games this season.

Winning Ways... In six of the past 11 seasons the Rangers have won at least a share of either the GLIAC or GLVC regular season title. Four times in the GLVC (2012-13, 13-14, 14-15, 15-16) and two times in the GLIAC (2018-19, 22-23).

Notables…
- The Rangers have shot 50 percent or better in nine games this season and are 8-1 in those contests.
- The Rangers have made ten or more threes ten times this season and are 9-1 in those games.
- Parkside was 14-3 at home this season, which is the best since the 2016-17 season.

A Win Would...
- Give Parkside their first NCAA Tournament win since a 74-65 win over Kentucky Wesleyan in 2016.
- Be the first for Parkside over UMSL since defeating the Tritons 86-59 on January 14, 2017.
- Send the Rangers to the NCAA Second Round against either Ferris State or Ashland.

About the Tritons… UMSL enters the NCAA Tournament with a record of 21-10 overall. The Tritons are coming off a 62-51 loss to McKendree in the GLVC Championship last Sunday. UMSL started the season 12-0, including the win over Parkside on December 31st. The Tritons are led by First team All-GLVC guard Isaiah Fuller. Fuller is averaging 15.5 points per game this season and is shooting 52.5% from the floor. Fuller was also named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Year. This is the fourth straight year that a Triton has earned the honor.
