Preview: Parkside Looking to Bounce Back in Maryville Thanksgiving Classic

St. Louis, MO - After Parkside's first two games at home, they are back on the road for the Maryville Thanksgiving Classic. Parkside will take on the University of Missouri - St. Louis on Tuesday, and Maryville University on Wednesday. 

 

Scouting Parkside

Following a 2-0 start to the season, Parkside dropped their two battles in the HARIBO Invitational. The team was defeated by No. 12 Minnesota Duluth and Minnesota Crookston. So far this season, Josiah Palmer has led the way in the scoring. Palmer leads the team with 13.8 points per game, and has shot 43% from three. Parkside features three other players averaging at least 10 points per game; Sam DeVault, Jack Rose, and Colin O'Rourke

Scouting Missouri - St. Louis

Following a 24-11 season and an Elite-8 appearance, the team has began the season 1-3. UMSL ended Parkside's season in the first round of the NCAA tournament last year. So far this season, sophomore Matt Enright has been the star. Through four games, Enright is averaging over 18 points per game on 51% shooting. In addition, Emanuel Prospere II and Mayson Quartlebaum are both averaging 11 points per game.
 

Scouting Maryville

A season ago Maryville went 16-12 overall. So far in the 2023-24 campaign, Maryville has played only one game. In their win over Webster University, Dwayne Vass had 18 points on 78% shooting. They had two other players in double digits. Anthony Holden had 16 points and Noah Courtney had 13. Maryville is the hosts this week, where they sported a 10-4 record last season.
