FINDLAY, Ohio — The Parkside wrestling team competed at the Findlay Open on Saturday. In total 14 Rangers placed, and
Cayden Henschel and
Shane Corrigan took home individual titles.
Corrigan was dominant in the 125lb weight class. He went 4-0 on the day with three wins by tech fall and one win by major decision. He clinched the title by a 15-0 tech fall over Aaron Lucio.
At 133lbs
Matthew Chi and
Elon Rodriguez each had strong performances. Chi finished the day 4-1 in third place. He clinched third with a 6-4 win over his teammate Rodriguez. Rodriguez finished 3-2 on the day with a fourth-place finish.
Henschel took home the title in the 141lb weight class. He went 5-0 on Saturday, clinching the title by a 13-3 major decision over Ray Rioux of UIndy.
Troy Dolphin competed unattached in the 141lb weight class as well, finishing third. He went 4-1 on the day, clinching third by an 8-6 decision.
Jordan Craft wrestled unattached and was a top finisher in the 149lb weight class. He went 4-1 on the day, falling to Christian Donathan in the championship match, giving him a second-place finish.
Jalen Spuhler places sixth on Saturday going 4-1. His lone loss coming to the 2022 national finalist Christian Small.
Easton Worachek wrestled unattached and finished sixth. He went 3-1 Saturday, with two wins by fall.
Brady Schuh placed third on Saturday, going 4-1. He won his third-place match by a 6-3 decision over Alex Cook of West Liberty. He had two tech fall wins and one by pin.
Brody Hemauer placed second in the 174lb weight class. He went 4-1 on Saturday, winning by fall three times. He lost in the championship match to Josh Kenny of Grand Valley State by a 13-9 decision.
Crosby Schlosser placed eighth, going 4-2. He won by major decision twice on Saturday.
Chase Stegall wrestled unattached and placed fifth. He went 5-1 on Saturday, with his lone loss coming in the quarterfinals. He won the fifth-place match over Ranger
Kaden Hooker. Hooker placed sixth in the 197lb weight class. After falling in round two, Hooker won four straight to reach the fifth place match.
Lloyd Reynolds placed third in the 285lb weight class. Reynolds won by major decision in the second round, and earned third place, defeating Jake Powell of Wheeling.
The Rangers will return to action on December 2
