KENOSHA, Wis. - The Parkside women's soccer team is set to complete their five game home stand this Friday as they will play host to Purdue Northwest in their only match this weekend. In the weekend previous the Rangers dropped a close 0-1 match to Saginaw Valley State while picking up a scoreless draw against Ferris State. The draw against the Bulldogs snapped a seven match losing streak for the Rangers that dated back to Oct. 2018. Parkside will look to end the home stand on a high note as they will face the Pride on Friday at Wood Road Soccer Field.
"Friday will mark the halfway point of conference play. I truly believe that we are starting to play some really good soccer and finding our identity as a team. We've lacked the goal scoring the past two games but if we stay the course it will come and the results will follow. There is parity in the GLIAC right now and a lot up for grabs each week. I'm looking forward to a good performance on Friday as we Defend the Den!" head coach
Brittany Nikolic remarked when asked about this weekends matchup.Â

SCOUTING PURDUE NORTHWEST
The Pride will enter Friday's fixture 2-6-2 overall and still searching for their first GLIAC win. Their last victory came back in nonconference play on Sept. 2 against Concordia University (Mich.). Last weekend the Pride dropped with two GLIAC matchups between Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State. PNW was shutout in a 0-2 scoreline in both games. This match will also serve as the Pride's first away match in two weeks.Â
Offense for the Pride has been abysmal while in conference play. The only GLIAC match the Pride have been able to notch a goal was back on Sept. 22 when they faced Grand Valley State, losing 1-6. The Pride have now not scored a goal in 344 minutes of action. Their offensive attack is led by senior forward Kaci Pampreen. Pampreen has four goals to her name thus far this season with nine points to go along with her team leading goal total. She enters Friday's match holding a .545 shots on goal percentage while shooting 11 shots so far this season.Â
Defensively, PNW has started a freshman in goal in all 10 games this season. Meta Fischer has played all but 26 minutes in goal this season for the Pride. Fischer has faced a massive 111 shots so far this season while picking up 51 saves. She touts a .750 save percentage this season while also claiming three shutouts. The goal hungry Rangers, who haven't notched a goal since the Davenport match back on Sept. 22, will look to test Fischer's goalkeeping skills early and often. Look for the Rangers to fire off a good amount of shots in this one.
History favors the Rangers in this one. The Rangers have only dropped one match to the Pride since Purdue Northwest debuted the program back in 2018. The only loss Parkside had was back in 2019 when they played the Pride in Hammond, Ind.Â
