HAMMOND, IND. – The Parkside volleyball team concluded the 2023 Midwest Crossover on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Tiffin University Dragons. The Rangers came from behind in the first two sets and stormed away in the third to sweep Tiffin 3-0.

- Karlee Lois hit 1,000 career assists at Parkside during the match, she now stands at 1002 at Parkside after dishing out 33 today.
- Ava Irvin led the offense with 12 kills.
- Parkside had ten aces in the match, led by Cayla Gutche with four.
Parkside found themselves trailing early in set one, forcing Head Coach
Leigh Barea to take a timeout with the Rangers trailing 9-4. Parkside slowly chipped away, finally pulling even in the set at 20-20 on an
Elizabeth Truckenbrod kill. Parkside was able to take the lead and secure the 25-23 set one win with an ace from Truckenbrod. Truckenbrod had six kills in the set for the Rangers.
Much like set one, Parkside found themselves in a hole early in set two. After a Ranger timeout with Parkside trailing 11-6, Parkside was able to pull ahead at 16-15 with a 10-4 run.
Hallie Neill picked up two aces during the run, including the go-ahead point. Parkside continued with their lead, finishing off the 25-22 set two victory with back-to-back blocks.
Mariena Coon led the offense in set two, recording five kills on ten attempts.
The Rangers kept their foot down in set three, blowing open an 18-13 lead with three aces by Gutche. The Rangers continued to add on, finishing off the sweep with a 25-18 set three victory on a kill by Irvin. Parkside hit .321 as a team in set three and recorded five aces as a team.
The Rangers improve to 11-9 overall with the win. Parkside returns to action and conference play on Friday evening when Davenport comes to De Simone Arena in Kenosha. Opening serve is set for 6:00pm.
