The Parkside softball team had its offense shut down by No. 24 Grand Valley State on Thursday afternoon, as the Lakers were able to no-hit the Rangers in game one and shut them out in game two as well.

Parkside is set to face Ferris State on Saturday, April 9 and Northwood on Sunday, April 10 on the road.

GAME 1 RECAP
The Rangers failed to record a hit in game one, as the Lakers' Hannah Beatus recorded the no-hitter with seven strikeouts. Beatus leads the GLIAC in ERA and wins.

GVSU scored three runs in the bottom of the second and two in each the fifth and sixth inning on redshirt-senior
Tijanne Ross. The lone baserunner came in the top of the seventh where junior
Jadynn Powell reached on a strikeout-wild pitch combination.

GAME 2 RECAP
The Lakers were able to pull away late in game two behind another strong pitching performance, this one by Ashley Platek. GVSU scored one in the third, four in the fifth and one in the sixth to earn the 6-0 win.

The Rangers scattered four hits in game two, with junior
Taylor Delgado going 2-for-4 out of the leadoff spot and redshirt-senior
Alyssa Laxson and junior
Alex Wooten each recording a hit. Redshirt-senior
Kiley Akey suffered the loss in game two, going 5.0 innings while freshman
Olivia Masnica pitched the final inning.
