Women's Basketball Earns Fourth Straight Win, Defeats Michigan Tech 81-67

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside women's basketball team hosted the Michigan Tech Huskies to end a three-game home stretch.  The Rangers fell to the Huskies on the road back on Jan. 6., but looked to come away with a win on Jockey Day.  The Rangers got out to another hot start, and were able to hold off a Michigan Tech comeback to earn their fourth straight win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers got out to an early 18-11 at the end of the first quarter.  The Rangers got hot in the second quarter, outscoring the Huskies 20-8 in the period.  Hannah Plockelman led the way in the quarter with six points.  The huskies came out of the halftime break with new-found energy and began to rally back.  The Rangers lead was cut to just 12 points heading into the fourth quarter. The Rangers were able to recover and hold on to earn the win, defeating the Huskies by 14

A LOOK AT THE STATS
Alyssa Nelson continued her dominant season, dropping 25 points and six rebounds. Plockelman finished with 19 points and nine rebounds.  Paty Gallasova scored 11 points while
earning four assists and four rebounds.  Sarah Dax led the Huskies with 15 points.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers will hit the road next week to take on Saginaw Valley State on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m.  The Rangers will return home on Feb. 17 to take on the Bulldogs of Ferris State.
