Men's Basketball Earns Home Win over East-West

Parkside 74, East West 53
Parkside men's basketball had its final nonconference home game of the year and came away with a 74-53 win over East-West. The Rangers will finish out the GLIAC regular season on Saturday at Northwood.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game started pretty slowly for each team, but Parkside held East-West scoreless for over 4:00 of game time and pulled away at the end of the first half. The Rangers used a 9-0 run to push it to double-digits and took a 38-23 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, Parkside quickly used another 9-0 run to push the lead to 20 points and kept it there for much of the way, never letting the Phantoms back into the game.

STATWORTHY
Parkside was led by redshirt-junior Cameron Myre's 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from deep. Redshirt-freshman Jamir Simpson finished with 13 points and nine rebounds while redshirt-freshman Colin O'Rourke had 10 points. Lamon Berry had a season-high five points for the Rangers.

Parkside shot 41.4% from the floor while holding the Phantoms to 34.4%. The Rangers went 10-of-28 from deep and went +12 in rebounding with 18 offensive rebounds.
