Michigan Tech 3, Parkside 1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19)
The Parkside Volleyball falls to Michigan Tech in four sets on the road in Houghton, Mich. The Rangers will round out their season against Northern Michigan University.
MATCH RECAP
The first set was a close battle with three kills coming from freshman Ava Irvin but it was the Huskies who broke off a 7-7 tie to take a first set victory by a score of 25-19. The second set was much of the same except this time it was the Rangers who prevailed following an 8-8 tie. The Rangers let the Huskies back in the set momentarily until the green and white shut the door to take the second set 25-23. The Huskies returned for the third set and took over on the offensive side of the ball. The Huskies took the lead in the series following a third set victory by a score of 25-17. Parkside started the fourth set hot by going on a 6-1 run to begin the set. But it was the Huskies who tied the set at 19-19 before winning six straight points to win the match 25-19.
NOTEWORTHY STATS
Senior Reese Rossnagel led the Rangers once again in kills with 14, Irvin was close behind with 10 of her own. Freshman Lily Ray led the Rangers in total assists with 19, as the team leader senior Alysha Brickl followed with 18. Junior Cayla Gutche totaled 18 digs for the Rangers on Friday.
