KENOSHA, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers women's volleyball team took on the Lake Superior State Lakers on Friday night. The Rangers were unable to get in a rhythm, falling 3-0 in the second to final home match of the 2022 season.
Set one was the most closely contested of the night, featuring ten ties and two lead changes. The Rangers had just two errors in the set, but the Lakers were able to record five more kills. Reese Rossnagel led the offense with five kills in the set. The sides were close until the middle points of the set when the Lakers created enough separation to take set one 25-20.
Cayla Gutche recorded four digs in set two, but a 5-0 run for the Lakers opened up an advantage that was too much to overcome as Parkside fell 25-18. The Lakers continued the momentum in set three, taking the set 25-14.
Rossnagel led the offense with 12 kills on the night.
Alysha Brickl finished with 17 assists and Gutche had ten total digs.
The Rangers will close out the home portion of the 2022 schedule tomorrow afternoon when Davenport comes to De Simone Arena. Opening serve is set for 1:00pm. You can find the links to live coverage, including the live video stream through FloSports at parksiderangers.com/coverage.
